The pass was minted that afternoon in the resident's app and shared by a link, nothing more. At 6:35 the guest taps it at the door and lets themselves in, no call upstairs, no one leaving the table.

The redemption logs itself the instant it happens. A push tells the host their guest is in, and the whole exchange is already on the record before anyone's sat back down.

A pass takes a minute to make.

Dana sets a window, picks a use cap, and taps share. That's the whole thing. The code is ready before her guest has even left the house.

  • A window or a rhythm. One-off passes with a start and end; recurring passes by weekday and time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 to 5, in the building's own timezone.
  • Use caps that hold. One use or fifty; the counter is enforced atomically, so a shared code can't sneak in twice.
  • Vendor passes carry paperwork. Company name, expected party size, and the building's access terms signed before the code works.
  • Key loans, consented. Where key exchange is on, the resident signs the release terms in-app: signature, timestamp, and the exact version signed.
  • Shared like anything else. A link via the share sheet; the guest needs no app.
  • Edit or revoke, live. Change the window or kill the pass; revocation is immediate at every door.

The pass is a webpage.

There's nothing to install. The link the guest was sent opens a live card that only turns into a door once they're standing in front of it.

  • A branded card, a QR, a button. The link opens the live pass: status, window, and "tap to open" when standing at the door.
  • Only at the door. Redemption requires proof of presence: a location check or an NFC tap on the decal.
  • Wrong code? Locked out. Codes are one of a trillion; ten bad tries in a minute locks the guessing out.
  • The host knows. The resident gets a push the moment their guest comes in.
  • Expired is honest. Outside the window, past the cap, or revoked, the pass says so instead of failing mysteriously.

In staffed lobbies, passes meet a person.

The tablet doesn't just take the code, it puts a name and a party size against it, and the desk decides.

  • Look up, approve, deny. By code or scan; a denial records its reason.
  • ID checks against the pass. The visitor's name rides on the pass; the ID photo goes on file encrypted and the match happens on the device. The doorman confirms; the system never guesses.
  • Party sizes, counted. A vendor pass says three are coming; the desk logs who actually showed.
  • Keys released against the pass. The signed authorization travels with it: release, track, and take the key back on the same screen.
