This page is one moment at the front desk, watched from every surface that touches it. A dog walker arrives for 5C's key. The doorman checks the ID against the pass, confirms the return deadline, and hands it over. The whole exchange takes less time than the elevator.

What happens next depends on who's on shift, what the building requires, and who's watching from the portal. Every version of it lands in the same place: the record.

The desk doesn't sit empty between shifts. Whoever's covering it taps their name on the roster, and from that moment every call, key, and pass they touch carries their name, not typed in, but enforced by the server the moment they tap in.

At the counter, the tablet turns a handful of judgment calls into a record: who's expected, whose ID matches, and which keys are still out.

  • Guest passes, verified. Look up by code or scan; approve or deny with the reason logged.
  • ID checks that stay human. The photo goes on file encrypted; the name is matched on the device itself, no facial recognition, and the doorman confirms every verdict.
  • Walk-ins are records, not access. A visitor without a pass gets logged with an ID check. The door stays a separate decision.
  • Keys move on terms. Releases require the resident-signed terms; returns are confirmed; a keys-out list means nothing dangles.
  • The roaming fork. On a phone, the same shift scans package barcodes at the mailroom and checks recent activity. The desk isn't a place, it's a login.

The desk, run from the office.

None of it is configured at the desk. The roster, the ID policy, the key terms, the desk's own password: all of it lives in the portal, a chair's width from the rest of the building.

  • Roster in your hands. Add or remove doormen per building; they appear on the tablet's picker immediately.
  • One credential, rotated safely. The desk sign-in is provisioned from the portal; the password shows once, on the iPad, and can be regenerated any time.
  • ID verification is a policy, not a habit. Off, optional, or required, with photo retention you choose: 30, 60, or 90 days.
  • Key terms, versioned. Edit the key-release terms; every signature records which version was signed.
  • Quick-message templates. Curate the desk's one-tap phrases per building.
  • Shift records you can stand behind. Start, end, and coverage records visible to managers, with an alert if a shift never closed.
